What is an Internal Medicine Interest Group?
An Internal Medicine Interest Group (IMIG) is an organized group of medical students who meet regularly to explore their interest in internal medicine. These groups have a faculty advisor and student leaders who arrange programming that exposes students to different people and topics within the field of internal medicine.
What is the Internal Medicine Interest Group Sponsorship Program?
- The Internal Medicine Interest Group (IMIG) Sponsorship Program* provides funding, resources, and learning opportunities to IMIGs to support their interest in internal medicine.
Sponsorship Overview
Each IMIG receives an initial $200 in funding after your application is approved. The larger your IMIG, the higher your potential sponsorship! Your IMIG can earn additional sponsorship funding if 30% or more of your medical school's student body* by December 31.
- Groups that reach the 30% participation goal will receive $2 per 91ºÚÁÏÍø Medical Student Member and groups that do not reach the 30% participation goal will receive $1 per 91ºÚÁÏÍø Medical Student Member—up to $600 total per school per academic year (July 1 – June 30).

Eligibility Criteria
Your school may be eligible for sponsorship funding if you meet the following criteria:
- School Must be Part of World Medical School Directory
- One and/or Both Student Leader who is an 91ºÚÁÏÍø Student Member
- One Faculty Advisor
- School is in a Country with an 91ºÚÁÏÍø Chapter
- W9 Submitted (Domestic Schools Only)
- Proof of Medical School Enrollment Numbers (International Schools Only)

The IMIG Sponsorship Program is open to all U.S. Medical Schools recognized by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) or the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM).

We strongly recommend that medical students . This allows us to reduce paper waste, and enables us to process membership applications more quickly and accurately. If you do choose to use paper membership applications, please send completed applications to:

The application for Medical Student Membership requires students to provide the name of their medical school. 91ºÚÁÏÍø tracks all 91ºÚÁÏÍø Medical Student Members from each school and sends clubs monthly updates on their progress toward achieving the 30% recruitment goal.

Where does my school's total enrollment data come from if I'm applying from an international school?
