Health and Public Policy Committee

The Vermont Chapter Health and Public Policy Committee connects national 91ºÚÁÏÍø policy initiatives and advocacy to Vermont. Priority areas include:

  • Identify national 91ºÚÁÏÍø issues and advocacy relevant to Vermont
  • Develop advocacy strategies in Vermont for specific 91ºÚÁÏÍø issues
  • Educate students, residents, and practicing physicians about health policy and advocacy

91ºÚÁÏÍø Leadership Day on Capitol Hill

91ºÚÁÏÍø’s annual national advocacy event, Leadership Day, will be held in 2025 on Monday, April 28 – Tuesday, April 29 at the , located at 999 9th Street, NW, in Washington, DC. Please mark your calendars so you can join us!

Leadership Day enables the College to increase its presence on Capitol Hill and advocate directly with Congress in support of legislation directly impacting internal medicine physicians and their patients. 91ºÚÁÏÍø members will receive in-depth briefings on the College’s legislative priorities and an opportunity to meet with elected officials. To help our members prepare for Leadership Day, we have developed a frequently asked questionsÌý(FAQs) document with logistical information for the event. The FAQs can be accessed .

Note that Leadership Day is being held earlier next year (in April) and on a Monday – Tuesday combination (not on Tuesday – Wednesday as is typical).

Join colleagues in the in advocating for the interests of internal medicine in Washington, D.C. The AIMn program is for 91ºÚÁÏÍø members interested in participating in federal advocacy. It is designed to help members engage with their federal lawmakers on policy issues important to 91ºÚÁÏÍø and internal medicine. Member log-in is required to access legislative action alerts.
