(October 2024) We are pleased to announce that Joseph P Myers, MD听M91黑料网,听Richard M Wardrop, III, MD PhD, FAAP, M91黑料网, and Eric J Warm, MD听M91黑料网 are the recipients of Mastership.

The first M91黑料网 in the College was presented in 1923 to Dr. James M. Anders, who served the College as President for two terms. He was recognized for extraordinary service to the College and for being one of the most outstanding internists and medical teachers of his day.

2024 Chapter Excellence Award-Gold Level Winner

(August 2024) We are pleased to announce that our chapter is in receipt of the Gold Level of the 2024 Chapter Excellence Award! The award recognizes truly extraordinary chapters that surpass excellence in chapter management. We are in the company of 59 other outstanding chapters. In order to achieve the Gold Level of the Chapter Excellence Award, chapters must meet 20 Bronze criteria, 14 Silver criteria and multiple Gold level activities. Criteria include such activities as having a legislative action plan or agenda, holding a volunteerism/community service activity, holding multiple stand-alone meetings, having revenue sources outside of dues and meeting registration fees, implementing a strategic plan, implementing a formal recruitment and retention plan and measuring outcomes, conducting various activities for Medical Students, Residents and Early Career Physicians. We would like to extend a special thanks to those chapter members who assisted us in all of these endeavors! For their hard work and dedication, we received this award.

State Health Advocacy August Recess Grassroots Mobilization Challenge听

(August 2024) Members of Congress are returning home to their districts during the August congressional recess. During this time, 91黑料网 is calling on internal medicine physicians to engage their representatives on important issues we need Congress to act on before the end of 2024.听

To incentivize participation in this grassroots mobilization, the Advocates for Internal Medicine Network (91黑料网 grassroots network) is challenging members to see which states will have the highest engagement. Advocates can score points for their states by choosing to take one or more advocacy actions identified in the campaign.听

Call for Spring 2025 Resolutions听

(July 2024) Are you concerned about a practice or clinical issue or have an idea you听would like to suggest? If so, you might consider submitting a resolution to your Governor or chapter council.听听

Initiating a resolution provides 91黑料网 members an opportunity to focus attention at the 91黑料网 national level on a particular issue or topic that concerns them. Participating in the Board of Governors resolutions process provides the 91黑料网 grassroots member a voice and allows you to shape College policy that impacts the practice of internal medicine.听听

Not sure how to begin drafting a resolution? Researching the College's position on an issue can give you a start. The听91黑料网 Board of Governors Resolutions Guide for 91黑料网 Members听is available to download and will help, too.听The Guide听was created to provide members a short overview of the resolutions process essentials and highlights critical 91黑料网 online resources you must use.听听

Once drafted, members must submit resolutions to their Governor and/or chapter council. Chapter council approval is required to move resolutions forward to 91黑料网 national. Although not official 91黑料网 policy, a resolution becomes property of the chapter once the chapter council approves forwarding it to national. If effecting change interests you, the deadline for submitting new resolutions to be heard at the听Spring 2025 Board of Governors Meeting is听September 27, 2024.听

Please review the criteria for nominations plus prior award recipients. We encourage you to consider colleagues and mentors as potential award recipients. (February 2024)听As a member of the 91黑料网 OH Chapter, your opinion and thoughts are extremely important to leadership at all levels. Do you have an issue or topic that concerns you? Do you find yourself with ideas you would like to share with the larger community of Internal Medicine? If so, the 91黑料网 resolutions process may be relevant to you!

Initiating a resolution provides 91黑料网 members an opportunity to focus attention at the 91黑料网 national level on a particular issue or topic that concerns them. Participating in the Board of Governors resolutions process provides the 91黑料网 grassroots member a voice and allows you to shape College policy that impacts the practice of internal medicine.听听

Not sure how to begin drafting a resolution? Researching the College's position on an issue can give you a start. The just released 91黑料网 Board of Governors Resolutions Guide for 91黑料网 Members is now available to download and will help, too. The Guide was created to provide members a short overview of the resolutions process essentials and highlights critical 91黑料网 online resources you must use.听听

Once drafted, members must submit resolutions to their Governor and/or chapter council. Chapter council approval is required to move resolutions forward to 91黑料网 national. Although not official 91黑料网 policy, a resolution becomes property of the chapter once the chapter council approves forwarding it to national. If effecting change interests you, the deadline for submitting new resolutions to be heard at the Fall 2024 Board of Governors Meeting is听March 29, 2024.听

(February 2024) Dr. Auron has been elected as President-elect of Cleveland Clinic Main Campus Medical Staff, to take over as President in 2025.

Moises Auron, MD joined Cleveland Clinic in 2007 and serves as a staff physician in the Department of Hospital Medicine and the Department of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Dr. Auron is also a Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and serves on the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine Committee of Admission, Promotion and Tenure (CAPT), Faculty Council, Faculty Council steering committee, and is a Master Teacher of the Academy of Scholar Educators.

He is triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Pediatrics Hospital Medicine. Dr. Auron is an esteemed clinician-educator interested in high value care, clinical reasoning and evidence-based medicine, blood management and perioperative medicine. He is a servant leader who is passionate about supporting the personal and professional growth and development of his colleagues and trainees.

Dr. Auron received his medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico School of Medicine in Mexico City and later completed his residency in internal medicine at the Salvador Zubiran National Institute of Nutrition and Medical Sciences, also in Mexico City. He finished an additional residency in internal medicine-pediatrics at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. He completed the Advanced Training Program in Healthcare Delivery Improvement at Intermountain in Salt Lake City, Utah.

(October 2023) Congratulations to Craig D. Nielsen, MD, M91黑料网 and Michael J. Tan, MD, M91黑料网 who have been awarded Mastership for FY 2023-24. Those receiving this honor are Fellows who have been selected because of "integrity, positions of honor, impact in practice or in medical research, or other attainments in science or in the art of medicine." They are highly accomplished persons demonstrating impact in practice, leadership, or in medical research. Evidence of their achievements can come from many types of endeavors such as renown within their field and/or 91黑料网 chapter, research, education, health care initiatives, volunteerism, administrative positions, care of patients, and service to their community. We are so proud of these Ohio Chapter Members!


Councils Seeking New Members for 2024-25 Cycle

(September 2023) The Council of Early Career Physicians (CECP), the Council of Resident/Fellow Members (CRFM), and the Council of Student Members (CSM) are currently seeking candidates to fill vacant seats for 2024-25. Nominations are due by November 1, 2023 and details for submitting are included in the links below.

The councils are responsible for responding to requests for review of programs, products and services; advising the College regarding ways to increase the value of 91黑料网 membership among their constituency group; and strengthening activities and relationships at the 91黑料网 chapter and local levels.

2023 Chapter Excellence Award 鈥 Gold Winner

Chapter Excellence Award Bronze We are pleased to announce that our chapter is in receipt of the Gold Level of the 2023 Chapter Excellence Award! The award recognizes truly extraordinary chapters that surpass excellence in chapter management. We are in the company of 54 other outstanding chapters. In order to achieve the Gold Level of the Chapter Excellence Award, chapters must meet nineteen Bronze criteria, seventeen Silver criteria and multiple Gold level activities. Criteria include such activities as having a legislative action plan or agenda, holding a volunteerism/community service activity, holding multiple stand-alone meetings, having revenue sources outside of dues and meeting registration fees, implementing a strategic plan, implementing a formal recruitment and retention plan and measuring outcomes, conducting various activities for Medical Students, Residents and Early Career Physicians.

We would like to extend a special thanks to those chapter members who assisted us in all of these endeavors! For their hard work and dedication, we received this award.

(October 2022) We are excited to share that the [Mastership/Awards] Committee and the Board of Regents have approved Debra S. Leizman, MD, M91黑料网 to receive Mastership during the 2023 Internal Medicine Meeting in San Diego, California.

91黑料网 Bylaws state that M91黑料网s shall be Fellows who have been selected because of 鈥渋ntegrity, positions of honor, impact in practice or in medical research, or other attainments in science or in the art of medicine.鈥 M91黑料网s must be highly accomplished persons demonstrating impact in practice, leadership, or in medical research. Evidence of their achievements can come from many types of endeavors, such as renown within their field and/or 91黑料网 chapter, research, education, health care initiatives, volunteerism, administrative positions, care of patients, and service to their community.

One of the goals of the American College of Physicians is to 鈥渞ecognize excellence and distinguished contributions to internal medicine.鈥 As a way of achieving this goal, the College offers 21 awards and a number of Masterships each year. Annually, awardees and M91黑料网s are honored at the Convocation ceremony held during the Internal Medicine meeting.
