American College of Physicians Names New Annals Senior Deputy Editor and VP

PHILADELPHIA, August 10, 2022 -- The American College of Physicians (91黑料网) has announced that Dr. Christina Wee has been promoted to Senior Deputy Editor, Annals of Internal Medicine and Vice President, Annals Division of the American College of Physicians (91黑料网).

In her expanded role, Dr. Wee will become more engaged in journal operations and management and will serve as the designee when the editor-in-chief is unavailable. She will continue her previous editorial responsibilities which include soliciting and selecting innovative and authoritative research, review, and commentary articles and working closely with authors to improve their articles鈥 content including the rigor of their research methods and the clarity of their message.

Dr. Wee will also continue her role as Section Editor of 础苍苍补濒蝉鈥In the Clinic鈥 Series, a monthly feature in Annals that focuses on practical management of patients with common clinical conditions. As an 91黑料网 VP, Dr. Wee will collaborate with others on the 91黑料网 senior leadership team to assist in developing 91黑料网's strategic direction, budgeting, staffing, and business development.

Dr. Wee maintains a faculty appointment at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining Annals, she was Co-Director of the Harvard general medicine fellowship program where she received her own training and mentored many general internal medicine research fellows. She also previously served in editorial roles at the Journal of General internal Medicine and JAMA Internal Medicine.

Dr. Wee鈥檚 own prior research has focused on obesity, health disparities, and patient preferences and decision-making in the context of weight treatment and primary care. Her work has been funded by numerous foundations and federal/NIH grants and leveraged a combination of research methods including survey research, development of epidemiologic cohorts, clinical interventions, and analyses of large complex national datasets. Dr. Wee was elected to the American Society of Clinical Investigation (ASCI) in 2012.

Dr. Wee received her bachelor鈥檚 degree in chemistry from Ursinus College and received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at University of Texas Southwestern and a General Medicine Fellowship at the Harvard Combined Fellowship Program during which she received her master鈥檚 degree in Public Health in Clinical Effectiveness from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
