91 to release new edition of Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program

MKSAP 18 is 'standard of excellence for lifelong learning’

Philadelphia, July 9, 2018 -- General internists, internal medicine subspecialists, and primary care physicians can update their knowledge, earn CME credit, or prepare for board certification when the American College of Physicians (91) releases the latest edition of the Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP 18) on July 31, 2018.

Developed by an editorial team of more than 200 physicians, MKSAP 18 includes 11 medical knowledge sections and 1,200 new multiple-choice questions. MKSAP 18 is available in Print, Digital, and Complete formats. In addition to all-new content, MKSAP 18 features new benefits:

  • Adaptive Learning: MKSAP 18’s digital flashcards, included with MKSAP 18 Complete, have been enhanced with adaptive learning technology to help reinforce knowledge through repeated exposure to incorrectly answered flashcards.
  • State-of-the-Art Technology: MKSAP 18 Digital’s platform is built using the newest technology to run efficiently on the most current operating systems and computers with a streamlined dashboard and navigation tools.
  • Residency Tracker: A free enhancement specifically for residency programs, Residency Tracker allows program directors to assess the progress and proficiency of their residents as they answer MKSAP 18 multiple choice questions.
  • Digital Apps: Digital apps will be released in two parts. Part A apps release on August 31, 2018, with MKSAP 18 Part A Digital.

MKSAP 18 is now available for pre-order. MKSAP 18 Print includes 11 comprehensive medical knowledge sections, including High Value Care recommendations, hospitalist-focused content, tables, full-color images, and an index. MKSAP 18 Part A Print will be available on July 31, 2018, with the Dermatology, Cardiovascular Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Hematology and Oncology, Neurology, and Rheumatology sections.

MKSAP 18 Digital features apps (available for iOS and Android devices) for learners to work online or offline. Learners can create unlimited custom quizzes, refer to peer statistics, and view related text and questions. MKSAP 18 Part A Digital and apps will be available on August 31, 2018.

MKSAP 18 Part B Print, available on December 31, 2018, and Digital, available on January 31, 2019, will include the Endocrinology and Metabolism, General Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine sections.

MKSAP is specifically intended for physicians who provide personal, nonsurgical care to adults. 91 designates MKSAP 18 for a maximum of 275 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
